TRAINING BY PowerWatts

LC3 is proud to partner with PowerWatts out of Fortius Sport & Health Centre for it’s training. PowerWatts is the most comprehensive and time-efficient indoor training system in North America. We are thrilled to have support from PowerWatts and Fortius.

STRUCTURE

LC3 riders enjoy a supportive group with many categories and helps develop cyclists with their goals. Our goal is to help you find cycling to be your inspiration. Whether you are starting off as a club rider or a racer, we are a supportive group and will help with your cycling goals.

LC3 will structure outdoor weekly rides on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings honing bikes skills of riders from beginner to advanced. The team of experienced coaches, who all have been riding or racing for years promise to teach you a thing or two to help bringing the best version of you on two wheels. Other celebrity coaches will be joining throughout the season to add new elements of training - tactical, safety or physiological. We promise to show up ready and expect the same of you!

TUESDAY TRAINING // POST-RIDE SOCIAL

Our rides will be instructed by individuals accredited by NCCP accreditation, cycling professionals and racers that bring years of training, and competitive experiences. LC3 riders will ride out of Fortius 6:00 sharp. LC3 rides will head towards Port Moody/Belcarra, as well as the North Shore and hill repeats up SFU. LC3 workouts will vary from long and moderate efforts to short and harder efforts to build aerobic fitness.

Cycling groups will be divided into three categories. The first ride of the season will likely be done as one group that will assess where each member will fit and afterwards will be divided into smaller groups based on the cyclist average speed. Our groups will range from speeds of 30km/hr or greater, 23-27km/hr and 23km/hr or less.

SATURDAY GROUP RIDES // POST-RIDE SOCIAL

Saturday morning group rides start at Fortius Sport & Health Center at 9:00 am sharp at a “no drop” pace which means no one gets left behind. We are proud to announce that Starbucks at Fortius is supporting our team, and opens at 8am which provides the option for our members to have coffee before or after the ride. We will have rider categories for every level: recreational, intermediate and advance/racers.

While the primary focus of our Wednesday night training is to improve our fitness development, our Saturday rides are all about group riding skills and etiquette. We want the focus on doing longer distance rides starting from 50 to 100 km +, at various speeds, depending on group levels through the season. The focus of the Saturday rides is to strike a balance between bring people together on the road in a fun-safe environment, and to increase our cycling skills, fitness, endurance & knowledge through rides with our experienced group leaders; through expert cycling clinics Come and see if you belong to our team!
